If you don’t have a matching set of core values, morals, principles and beliefs between 2 people you could still have a relationship with them but it would be a constant struggle.
You can’t build anything on an uneven foundation.
That would be living in an illusion of what you wish for something to be like.
Idealization of an illusion.
Believing in an illusion is called settling for a fantasy…your own self created non existent fantasy.
At our age most people are unable nor do they want to change their foundation even if it is cracked and in shambles.
There is a difference between putting in effort into a relationship verses struggling in a relationship.
‘Settling’ makes for a very tumultuous arduously long miserable existence for the person who has to settle for less than they are worth while trying to even out that imbalance.
Settling…NEVER works.
