Some people spend their whole life…days, weeks, months, years, decades…where NO ONE asks them…are you ok?
Not EVERYONE have people in their lives.
We can get used to ANYTHING…
We can get used to eating with no teeth…chomping on gums.
Would we prefer teeth…sure…but gums is all we have…so we make do.
I think Covid made us all experience this to a certain extent.
People were complaining that bars and parks were not opened…they were inconvenienced…
Really…
But that wasn’t the issue…
They couldn’t handle being left by themselves…
So lots of external aggression to nullify the internal discomfort.
No one chooses to be alone…but just are.
Those people who were left by themselves all through their life were probably the best equipped to handle this event.
Just because you have a lot of people around you…it doesn’t mean you are not alone.
I think the people who had the most problems to be by themselves during covid were people who had never experienced being by themselves before.
They did not know how to tolerate themselves without being around others.
Being alone is not the same as being lonely.
Being alone is actually just a state…it means that you are not with other people. Loneliness is an emotion, which describes a feeling of sadness attributed to not having connection.
You can be alone but not lonely.
There is a difference.
Remember there is a fate much worse than being single or alone…you could be in a relationship and feel completely alone and lonely.
Be grateful that you’re not in that place.
So…be kind…
You never know how another person is surviving.
